Verdant Venice Receives Water Education Grant!

We’re excited to share that the Verdant Venice Group (VVG) has been awarded a grant through the Safe Clean Water Program (SCWP) to bring stormwater education directly to our community!

With this support, we’ll host hands-on workshops and local site visits to show how nature-based solutions—like rain gardens, bioswales, and tree planting—can help clean and capture rainwater, improve ocean health, and make Venice more climate-resilient.

Here’s what’s coming:

  • Workshops in English and Spanish for renters, students, workers, businesses, and families
  • Fun, interactive mapping to plan community-based green infrastructure
  • Short videos and social media stories sharing local ideas and stormwater solutions
  • A “Watershed Kit of Parts” tailored to Venice’s unique needs

We’re partnering with schools, neighborhood groups, small businesses, and city agencies to make this a truly community-led effort. Whether you’ve got ideas, questions, or just want to learn more—we invite you to be part of the movement!
